My specific interests lie in a mix of several areas. I do research in Bayesian data analysis, diagnostics, residual analysis, model development and model checking, sample size calculations, statistical graphics. I do most of this in the context of repeated measures random effects models. I work with collaborators in several application areas, Death Penalty Charging, Environmental Modeling, Pediatric Pain and Paleontology. I especially enjoy teaching my classes in Statistical Graphics and Applied Bayesian Analysis. Most of my classes have computing and writing components, because there isn't much point to statistical practice unless you can calculate what you need to on the computer and then communicate what you have learned. I particularly like working in an academic environment because I get to work with students on various research projects, paper writing, and as advisor.
