Bio:

Susan Cantwell is the Director of Publications for the Center for Community Health. She is involved in all levels of manuscript preparation and submission for the Center, as well as managing the coordination and preparation of presentation materials.

Susan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctor degree, with an emphasis on Criminal Law in Child and Family Protection, from California Western School of Law. As a certified graduate of an interdisciplinary program on child abuse and neglect in law school, she authored two manuscripts dealing with the ramifications of the justice system on children.

Prior to her employment at the UCLA-NPI Center for Community Health, Susan had spent five years with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and interned with the Family Protection Unit of the District Attorney's office for the County of San Diego as part of her interdisciplinary training in child abuse and neglect. In addition, she worked for a number of years as an independent consultant in San Francisco, drawing on her interdisciplinary experience in family protection, working on projects focused on interactions between the justice system and mental health issues for children.

Susan is interested in HIV and Mental Health policy research, in particular, implications for Children and Families. Additionally, she is interested in exploring and developing strategies to take interventions to scale.
